Re: [guide-user] LX200 scope pad commands

Hi Alex,
To get Guide to set the LX-200's date/time, edit the file 'toolbar.dat'
and look for the following lines:
# 2373 !focusslo.bmp Focus slow (LX200)
# 2374 !addframe.bmp Add a 'movie frame' .BMP
Add in a line between these two, as follows:
# 2373 !focusslo.bmp Focus slow (LX200)
2422 !17.bmp Set LX-200 time
# 2374 !addframe.bmp Add a 'movie frame' .BMP
...and increase the number of buttons, given at the top of
the file.
The next time you run Guide, you'll see a toolbar button
reading '17', and when you move the cursor over it, you'll see
the hint "Set LX-200 Time". Click on this button, and Guide
will send the date/time to the LX-200 (or Autostar or similar
Meade-compatible telescope).
Some warnings about this: I've learned that some scopes
don't handle the "officially documented" method for setting the
time zone; they insist that time zones be integer hours from
UTC. I'll be posting a fix for this. Also, this hasn't been
thoroughly tested yet, and you may discover problems with it
that I didn't know about.
In the next update, options will also be available to set
the telescope's lat/lon and other parameters, and to get some
data from the scope (firmware version, etc.)
You also asked about a "move home" command. I'm looking into
this; I think I've found a way to support a lot of the LX-200
command set in a reasonably straightforward manner. That _may_
show up in the next update, but I'm not sure of this yet.
