Re: [guide-user] Re: Accessing the 2nd CD

Hi Dave,

Looks as if you've puzzled this out correctly, but thought I'd
mention that the idea is that the line

18 drive F:\

can be modified to include two CD-ROM drives:

18 drive F:\;G:\

I suspect two-CD systems are getting somewhat rarer than they once
were. But at one time, they were common enough that I wanted to
support systems where disk 1 might be in one drive and disk 2 in a
second drive.

Line 63 just refers to the drive where Guide will look for A2.0
and RealSky data extracted using "DSS/RealSky Image... Get RealSky/DSS
from CD-ROM" and "Get Star Catalog Data... A1.0 (or A2.0) from CD-ROM"
options in the Extras menu.

In theory, the only people who should actually have to worry about
this are people with two-CD systems; others can safely ignore these
lines in 'startup.mar'. In practice, people whose CD-ROM drive letters
change also have to worry about the problem. (I wish drives just had
_fixed names_ in Windoze; every now and then, I'll do things like add
a second hard drive, on a temporary or permanent basis, and drive letters
get messed up... but I digress)
