Re: [guide-user] Chip data for Canon 350D etc.

Hi Markus,

Guide's knowledge of those chips is stored in the text file 'ccds.nam'
(and, in German, 'ccds.nad'; in French, 'ccds.naf', and so on.) It
doesn't list much in the way of digital cameras. The format of the
ccds.na* files is given near the bottom of each of these files, along
with some history as to the modifications to them and how to add
separate guiding chips.

I've attempted to get chip sizes for some digital cameras, with
essentially zero success. Camera manufacturers want to make sure you
know approximately how many megapixels their cameras have, but don't
usually list the dimensions (number of columns and rows, and size of
pixels in microns.) Makers of CCDs for telescopes are much more
careful about this, since that data is obviously much more important
to us than it would be to your casual photographer.
