No idea what that particular hex dump might mean. A few questions:

Are you running the current software from the Web site?

Was Guide working correctly, then started to fail? If so, do you
remember what happened in between?

It might be good to try running Guide with the first Guide CD in
the drive. Sometimes, odd errors of this sort go away when the CD is
available. (This has been less true in recent versions, since most
of the errors of this sort have been clobbered. But perhaps one bug
slid past me.) If you find that this fixes the problem, I recommend
going to Extras... Install to Hard Drive, and making sure that (at
the very least) "Minimum Install to Hard Drive" is checked.
