Re: [guide-user] Delta-T

Hi everybody,

a late comment to delta-t

for myself i wrote some time ago a subroutine in
delphi to cover delta-t continuously, using the tables
in meeus astronomical algorithms.
i tried to fit with a polynome and other functions ,
but "one for all" did not work for the timespan 0-2000
yr.
Therefore i made several fits for using simple
polynomes, as for a limited timespan they were as
accurate as more complex functions

before AD 950 second degree polynome
950-1620 second degr polynome (other coefficients)
1620-1801 fifth degr polynome
1801-1901 seventh degr polynome
1901-1951 fifth degr polynome
after 1951 third degr polynome.
this works reasonably well.

should anybody would like the code, let me know

george pothoff
