The problem is the grid epoch.

Look for " ticks grids and etc" under display. Click on it.

Click on "gids", again click on it.

You'll see epoch, like J2000. If you change the epoch, then the grid will change so it's no longer
pointed at the area near polaris.

Maybe bill can add a "epoch of date" option there.
