Slow printing speed with Guide 8.0 and Windows XP

I have encountered the following problem with printing of Guide 8.0
finding charts under Windows XP:

If a compare the printouts of the same field (1 degree field with
stars down to to 16 mag (with A2.0) and galaxies and minor planets
on) with my two computers I see great differences in file size and
printing time. Both prints uses the same HP Laserjet and the same PCL-
6 printer drivers ("old" computer with parallel cable and "new"
computer with USB cable:

750MHz PIII,Windows 98SE: file size 1.18 MB, printing time 1 minute
2.6 GHz P4, Windows XP: file size 8 MB, printing time 3:30 minutes

What can I do to get the same speed under XP as under 98SE? If I need
30 finding charts it is impossible to do it with the XP machine and
this printing times. Also Guide 8.0 crashes often if too many prints
are started in a row with XP. Printer has 10 MB memory but sending
some printing jobs with 3 to 4 MB should not crash Guide 8.0?

Maybe someone has encountered the same problem and can give me some
help.
