Re: [guide-user] Re: DSS image problem

Hi Pete, Denis,

Yup, you're right. I introduced a bug with the latest version.
The FITS images _do_ load up, but are often displaced by a degree
or so.

I can't see a way to work around this with the currently-posted
"official" version, so it looks as if I'll have to get the new
version stable as quickly as possible, so I can replace the
problem version. This shouldn't be too tough to do. You can get
the "in-testing" version at

http://www.projectpluto.com/new.htm

It had the same problem with "Add FITS Image", up until a few
minutes ago, but is fixed now. You will see at the above page
that several improvements have been added:

Use of B1.0 from the hard drive, as requested by Markus Funke
on this list;
Better initial contrast settings when images are first loaded;
Display of Steve Gottlieb's comments about NGC and IC objects;
Ability to increment Guide's time by steps via hotkeys, toolbar
buttons, and/or clicks on the time shown in the legend;
Ability to round off the time in ephemerides/object trails to
the nearest step size;
Better handling of atmospheric refraction;
Better dialog for setting level sizes;
Four very minor changes. (At least, I'd call them minor. You
may think otherwise.)

I _think_ this version may well be ready to go. But as usual,
I'd be happier about it if a few people gave it a try and let me
know it didn't crash on their machines.
