many thanks, but i think now that the confusion was totally on my side.
"help-- quick info " has a very nice colour scheme for the visibility
of the planets etc.
I assumed that this scheme was also applicable to the solar eclipses
which is, by design, not the case.
Anyway my guide reacts normal and i can and could simulate the
visibility of solar eclipses
