You're right; when you hit Alt-0 now, it rounds off to the nearest
midnight local time, rather than UT. And yes, that's intentional
behavior. In most cases, I thought it would be more useful.

Still... it may not be _too_ big a deal to have _both_ functions
available. One can then set up a hotkey and/or a toolbar option for
either, or both, functions.

For the next update, I will be adding something I really ought to
have added a very long time ago (maybe around Guide 2.0). In both the
Make a Trail and Make Ephemeris dialogs, there will be a "round to
nearest step" check-box. If you select this with a step size of (say)
four hours, with the current time set to 3:14:59.2, it'll round up
to 4:00.

The reason for this is that the Alt-0 hotkey is, as you say, quite
helpful when making certain sorts of daily or hourly ephemerides. But
you sometimes just want such an ephemeris without having Guide reset
to midnight, either local or UT. And sometimes, you want (say) an
ephemeris at even five-minute intervals, and don't want to have to
go all the way to the nearest midnight to do it.
