Rudy some of these USB to RS-232 adapters can be a bit difficult to
get working. Start with the basics - assuming that you have Windows
XP. Right click on the "my computer" icon, then click on properties,
then click on the hardware tab, then the device manager button.
Check under "Ports" and "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" for any
errors. If you find any errors correct them. Next I would try to
communicate with the mount using Bill's suggestion. If you are still
having problems I have one long shot idea. I had an Epson printer
driver that was "buggy" and would constantly scan the usb, parallel,
and com ports, it's behavior was a little different in that it would
cause connections to fail, but it would still be worth checking to
make sure that you don't have any other applications running that
would cause similar problems.
