Rudy,
I confirm that Guide works with my RS232 to USB adapter: it doesnÂ’t instead
if I try to use a Bluetooth serial port.

Giude 8.0
Hi Rudy,
Hmmmm... very strange... the use of the current version ought to
have fixed the problem. And the fact that you see COM 1 through 6
indicates that you _do_ have the current version installed.
Do you have any other software that _does_ communicate with the
scope? There are several programs (many freely available) that
could be used for that test.
Frank Schneider's suggestion is a good one. I'd add this:
using the communications software, send the command #:GL# to the
serial port. That ought to persuade the scope to send the local
time back, and your software ought to show this reply. If it
doesn't, then there's some problem in the hookup between scope
and computer... dunno what that might be.
One test I'd run at that point would be to hook up some other
USB gadget to that port (mouse, Webcam, scanner, whatever),
to determine if it's a USB problem or one closer to the scope
than that.
