Hi Bernd,

Hmmmm... most likely problem is just that Astrometrica's WCS
data differs somehow from PinPoint's. (I had a few sources of
WCS images -- PinPoint, SkyMorph, a couple of others -- but WCS
has enough oddities that some variant might have slipped past.)
If you could e-mail me the offending image, I'll take a look at
it and see what I can do.

Re contrast: I will probably add some code to dig through an
image and determine its histogram and passably decent contrast
and brightness settings.
