Hi Joe,

I can't say that _absolutely everything_ is preserved intact
when you do an update, but I've gone to some effort to ensure
that nothing very major is clobbered by them.

Some user-added datasets will be reset (usually to be 'off').
If you added your own CCD parameters to the list 'ccds.nam',
that'll get lost (though you may find that the camera in question
has been added in the last year or so.) But most customizable
aspects of Guide are carefully preserved between updates.

You might want to just ZIP up all files in the Guide folder
and put them someplace safe. If you find, after updating, that
some particular annoying item has changed, I will probably be
able to direct you to the file that needs to be un-updated. I
really doubt that'll be necessary, but it's a simple enough
precaution.
