Re: [guide-user] (Fwd) TLE-Database soon protected?

Hi Bernd, Kevin, all,

As Kevin suggests, you can get Guide to use _any_ TLE file;
it doesn't have to be one of those provided via the direct links
("click here to get 'alldat.tle'", etc.) If the restrictions
do go through, and TLEs can't be redistributed on assorted sites,
then I'll just switch Guide back to its previous method of handling
TLEs: click on "TLE=" in the Settings menu, and Guide will ask
you to select an already-downloaded file. That'll be a very easy
change (I change one line in a text file, and it's done).

But we may not have to do this. There have been a few "they're
going to cut off access to TLEs" scares in the past. Perhaps this
time, it'll really happen... but "it's not over until it's over."

Guide will still have magnitude data for some objects, from
a separate file. But if this goes through, I'll want to revise
Guide so that it can get satellite names and magnitudes via another
source... something I've wanted to do for a while anyway, and have
written a chunk of code to do.
