Thomas, which user-added datasets are appearing twice?

In theory, it might happen as follows: Guide 7 comes with a whole
slew of user-added datasets already installed.

Ove, I dunno about the "30 Jan 2000" version; it definitely should
read 10 March 2000!

Oliver is, of course, correct about the missing "Verkleinern" in the
German version. The very first line of DEUTSCH.DAT somehow got clobbered
into being blank. It _should_ read

&/ Verkleinern

You can either download the German .ZIP file again (it's fixed now) or
you can edit DEUTSCH.DAT and put in the above line.

Regarding the 'geo mode' suggestion: I _am_ thinking about a
"non-eclipse geo mode" for use in selecting your position on the earth;
showing the area of sunlight/twilight and/or moonlight; and perhaps the
tracks of artificial satellites, and/or the parts of the world in
which that satellite would be visible (its "footprint").

Karen, regarding cross-indexing: this tends to be a somewhat painful
issue at best. Guide probably does the best job of cross-indexing you can
get, in that you can use (say) "go to... galaxy... PGC", enter a PGC
number, right-click on that galaxy, and get some cross-indices in the
"more info".

Galaxies are (thanks to the busy citizens at the Universite de Lyon)
well cross-indexed. Stars are not. A "go to... star... GSC" will
_usually_ lead you to one star, and the same right-click and 'more
info' procedure will lead to other references. Sometimes not. In
particular, cross-references to variable, suspected variable, and
double star catalogs are shaky.
