Thanks for the help guys. Most of the problems I listed have been
corrected or addressed or verified.

Here's a synopsis:

PROBLEM: I have downloaded everything from both CDs to my hard
drive, but this software apparently requires that I place CD #1 into
my drive everytime before it will boot.

SOLUTION: From EXTRAS, I reloaded the basic program. I suspect that
for some reason it didn't install from the first installation and
that's why it needed the CD to run. Guide 8 now loads fine from the
hard drive.

PROBLEM: Charts print out just fine, but it sure would be nice to
have the basic info (such as the name) of the asteroid centered in
the chart. Is there a way to accomplish this?

ANSWER: Only if you manually type in "292 LUDOVICA" or whatever.
There's a couple of different settings that do this automatically in
The Sky. You can go to DISPLAY/DATE SHOWN/ASTEROIDS and sellect
displaying the name or the number, but not both at the same time.
And both is what I was looking for.

PROBLEM: After right clicking on an item, when printing out MORE
INFO on a displayed chart the chart won't print until you try to
print the next item. And then it sort of rolls the data over and
over.

BILL'S RECOMMENDED WORK AROUND: Use the EDIT option on the MORE
INFO menu bar. This brings up the text editor. And it can be
printed cleanly from the editor.

PROBLEM: The major issue that I was having was the accuracy on many
of the asteroid plots.

SOLUTION: At Arild's suggestion I copied the current MPCORB.dat file
from the Minor Planet Center into the Guide directory. And then
turned on EXTRAS/USE MPCORB. Rechecking against a couple of last
week's problem charts, the asteroids are now plotting right where I
observed them to be. This really was a simple procedure, but I
found no reference to it in the manual.

Now that this software's really clicking I'm psyched! What a huge
database.
