[guide-user] Daylight Saving question
James Ellis Dec 13, 1999
Hi,
I was just looking at the Venus-Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on 17th/18th May
2000 with Guide.
It will look a bit iffy with the three planet only about 4 deg above the
horizon and the sun 3 degrees below the horizon.
The time that Guide returned as the best oppurtunity for me in Sydney to
see it was about 7am local. At the moment I am on Daylight Saving (UT+11
hrs) though on May next I will be on normal AEST (UT+10hrs). Is this time
difference taken into account when Guide calculates times for certain
events or shoud I change the above event time to 6am?
If not can I input into Guide when Daylight saving runs here so it can
automatically take this into account?
DST is end of October to end of March here. Although next year it will be
from the end of August because of our silly Olympics. Pitch Black at 7am?
yay...
Any comments?
James
