Hi Roger,

As others have suggested, this is a matter of the bitmap selected for
the moon. Most objects have only one bitmap. The moon has two or three.
The default one is from a USGS map, with pretty good detail. The second
false-color one is an elevation map, with terrible detail. (I was hoping
to get one with really good detail; with a good elevation grid, Guide
could show the shadows cast by crater rims and mountains and other features
with pretty good accuracy. But the data doesn't exist yet.) It sounds
as if you've got this second one selected.

The third is the very detailed Clementine image, from the second Guide
disk. This one is only accessible if you have the second disk in the CD-ROM
drive, and/or have put in that disk and used Extras... Install to Hard Drive
to install the "lunar hi-res bitmap".
