Okay, then what does the following mean? (As posted by Laurent and
re-phrased accordingly.)

Johnson B-V color, computed from BT and VT: 0.605 +/- 0.014
Distance: alpha ± alpha parsecs (alpha ± alpha light-years)
Luminosity: alpha ± alpha times that of the sun
Absolute magnitude: alpha ± alpha

Polaris is alpha Minoris, but this still doesn't make sense, at least not
to me.
