Hmmm... the only thing I can come up with here is an oddity
involving, not the Bluetooth port, but the Gemini. It's
described at

This doesn't perfectly match what you describe. But the step
mentioned there is certainly needed, and it wouldn't surprise me
if it would cause the scope to suddenly behave itself.
