Lawrence,
I agree totally with you. That'd be great, and actually, much more convenient.

Objet : [guide-user] Possible mod for wide-field use

As I have reported many times, I find Guide invaluable at the scope for
showing me my exact field of view. For planning purposes (imaging) I wonder
whether one new option would be possible? When DSS images are enabled, we
have a choice of when they are displayed. I am interested in imaging some
wide fields, but there is no ability to give a lower limit for these displays
(eg., nothing smaller than 5 minutes-arc); this means that I have an 'all or
nothing' situation. If I choose to have DSS images displays, when using
fields 20 degrees or even 45 degrees, the program takes *ages* to load every
tiny image regardless - but I really only want to display the large ones -
such as NGC7000.

Added to that, I have never solved the 'action replay' problem in which
halfway during the production of the screen display, something causes the
screen to clear and do it all over again. This can take a very long time.

Would this be reasonably easy to modify, Bill :-)

best wishes

Lawrence Harris
