Hello group,

I have the following problems here with Guide 8 running the 29 April
2004 version.

I am interested in the asteroid occultation on Aug 1st.
There is information available e.g. here:

After RTFM (http://www.projectpluto.com/ast_occu.htm) I have created a
really nice path (thanks Bill *smile*).

Then I tried to do it (perhaps) a little bit more precise.

So I created a new asteroid by Extras - Edit comet data - (new
asteroid) and entered the values of Mr. Preston from this page, which
are perhaps more precise:

I have given it the name 1574-Meyer-by-Preston. It shows up about 0.4"
away from 1574 with the new name.

First problem: Going to up to magnifition "Level 15" shows up both
asteroids. But on higher levels up to 20 only 1574 is visible. The new
one is not there any more.

Second problem: I am not able to do select "Show eclipse" or
conjunction after selecting 1574-Meyer-by-Preston and the newly
created star "2UCAC 29914624" or "GSC 5156 1669" or any other star. It
works fine with asteroid 1574.

Third problem: After creating the new star in the file "LMA_STAR.DAT"
with exactly this line:
19 33 15.847 -05 38 27.60 2UCAC 29914624
I am not able to select the star by "Goto - Object name" entering
"2UCAC 29914624" or "29914624" or something else I tried.

Any ideas ?
