Re: [guide-user] Quasars

Hi Lawrence,

Sounds as if you found the right object. So the only mystery is
why it's not showing.

When you go to Extras... Toggle User Datasets and find 'quasars',
does it have an asterisk next to it? When you click on that line
to bring up the dialog wherein you can set up display of that dataset,
do the "Show At" field of view limits cover your current field of
view? Is the dataset turned "On", or at least turned on to a
magnitude that would cover 3C273 (mag 12.8)? Also, in what color
are quasars being shown? Perhaps one that's blending into the
background?

Be warned that it looks as if the quasar and its PGC galaxy
"double" are superimposed. If I hadn't had labels turned on for
quasars, I might have initially wondered where the quasar had
gone (though on closer inspection, I can see the quasar and
galaxy symbols superimposed on one another.)

I'm pretty sure you have the TDF pointed at the right file,
and that it's available to you; were it not, Go to... TDF
object would have failed, and "Quasars" wouldn't even have
appeared in the list of available datasets.
