Re: [guide-user] Map tracking telescope position?

Hi Tom,

Ouch! This is one of the major "nice new things" about the
recently posted update, and I see that it's not documented at all!
(It was discussed a bit on-list, but that was sometime around
last September.) Well, here goes... I'll write it up here, and
put the text into the update page in a bit.

If you look in Settings... Toolbar, near the bottom of the list,
you'll see an option to "Toggle Scope Location Indicator". As is
usual in the Toolbar dialog, you can tell Guide to add a button to
the toolbar for this function, or set up a hotkey for this function,
or both.

When toggled On, Guide will ask the scope for its location every
two seconds, and will show a symbol on the Guide chart indicating
that location. (If the location isn't currently on the chart, Guide
will recenter the chart.) Toggle it off, and (logically enough)
Guide will stop showing the indicator.

The two-second update rate can be changed. For example, if you
wanted an update every 15 seconds, you would hit Alt-J and enter

SCOPE_UPDATE_RATE=15
