Hello to all,
I downloaded and re-installed Home Planet last night. (I had deleted it and
half a dozen other astronomy programs as soon as I found Guide. CyberSky is
the only one I kept.) At 1.39Mb, the lite version of HP is small enough to
install just for the map, and it's freeware.
I also installed the lite version of shareware GeoClock, which I had also
checked out some years ago. It doesn't seem to be of much use for
astronomy, but would be great for ham radio. As a ham operator from
1950-1975 (W6RTE & K4SIW) I would have dearly loved to have something like
GeoClock.
Guide's world map seems more than two-thirds there already for a night/day
map. It wouldn't need to have a lot of detail. Since the subject has come
up, I'll bet Bill is kicking it around in his head even now!
