Open cluster database temporarily removed
Bill J Gray May 4, 2004
Hi folks,
I just got word from Philipp Teutsch, a member of the Deepsky Hunter's
group. Seems the DSH-2004 catalog that I posted is not really supposed to
be released yet (perhaps in a few weeks). This is in part because some of
the data is to be published in a peer-reviewed journal; also, not all the
data has been thoroughly checked yet.
Also, Philipp (and, I gather, others) are changing the dataset daily.
I can see that the DSH folks might be annoyed to get comments about problems
in the dataset that were indeed fixed in later versions. So I've removed the
file, and await an "authorized, well-checked" version. My apologies to
the DSH folks for this premature release!
Bertrand, I see what you mean (clicking on a DSH-2004 object and asking
for "more info", one can see an angular diameter which is twice that shown
on-screen). The fix is as you have described it. Thanks for the catch...
I am pretty sure all of this will still be relevant a few weeks from now,
when a "public" version of the dataset becomes available.
