As Mark Huss mentioned, much of the "underlying code" in Guide
has already been getting use in Linux. I've looked into GUI programming
in Linux, and it's a rapidly-moving (read "rapidly improving") target.

I do recall that some folks have gotten Guide to work in WINE. It
probably helps that Guide doesn't use some of the more obscure aspects
of the Windows API. (This may also mean that, at least in theory,
Guide might compile with the WINE libraries.)
