Only on Windows. The Linux version of Mozilla doesn't rename downloads
(unless you explicitly rename them). I'm assuming the
extension-mangling behaviour is caused by some stupidity hard-coded
into Windows itself; because it's apparently impossible to turn off.

I've also noticed Windows 95 & 98 having problems with filenames
containing a space just before the extension
(for example "catalogue .txt" or "this is a long file name .doc"); and
problems with filenames on network locations that exceed 255
characters in length.
