I am using "1 October 2003" version on W98SE.

I have put in a few aperture circles to match the circles of my reflex
finder and the FoVs of my binoculars. However, with the exception of one
of the aperture circles, every time I exit Guide, they revert to black
(i.e. entirely useless in "background > normal colors" mode). I have
tried making them different colours, yet only the 2 deg circle will stay
put.

Any solutions?
