Hi Hans.

Try importing the MPCORB data base into Guide. It is large (2+Mb) and
unzipping it into the Guide directory. Then in the Extras menu you can
click on the "Use MPCORB" button and get all of the asteroids and no
comets. The problem is that Guide extracts the special asteroids into the
comets file and then displays them along with the comets as you said.

So keep the comets file clean of asteroids and use the MPCORB data set and
you will then get just comets down to whatever magnitude you set and the
same with the asteroids.

One word of caution about the MPCORB data set. It is very large and may
run slow on an older machine.
Take a look at Bill's History file to get more information the MPCORB data
set.
