What to say, Bill?
One thing, only: as usual, your answers are rapid, efficient, and easy to run.
What would we be without you!
Thanks / Bertrand

Hi Bertrand,

I was about to reply that there was already a "Go To... Nebulae...
LDN" option in Guide, and that adding a hotkey and/or toolbar button
to it would be almost trivial. But that's not actually true: Lynd's
_Bright_ Nebula is in that menu, not the Dark version.

The simplest way to evade this problem was to treat the LDN as a
user-added dataset. This also allows use of the current, updated
LDN from the folks in Strasbourg. If you download

http://home.gwi.net/~pluto/ldn.zip (about 33 KBytes)

and unZIP it in your Guide directory, you will be able to use
Go To... Go to TDF object, then scroll down to "Lynd's Dark Nebulae",
click on it, and enter an LDN number.

Be warned that there are, it seems, no fewer than _three_ different
flavors of LDN numbers. There's a number Beverly Lynds used when
creating the catalog, which no one apparently understands; in many
cases, several objects have the same "original Lynds" number. Then
there's a running number from the original catalog (sorted in order of
galactic longitude), and a running number from a later version.
Exactly which one ought to be used isn't at all clear. I've chosen
the "current" LDN for the nonce. This can be fixed by simply altering
one line of 'ldn.tdf' if it turns out I've made a bad choice.
