I recently queried the use of the term NSV or NSVS with Guy Hurst another

<Roger Pickard recently raised an important point about stars appearing
in the NSV supplement. He was under the impression their numbers should
be pre-fixed with NSVS whereas I had used NSV on TA charts to date.
After consulting Mike Collins, whose stars are often affected, and
subsequently Nikolai Samus (GCVS) they confirm that NSVS should not be
used. It was evidently always intended to continue the NSV from the old
catalogue to the supplement - hence the numbering system.
I assume no existing TA or BAA charts are affected but thought you
should all be aware for future ones issued. Understandably I feel this
has arisen because data has been stored with computer names reflecting
NSVS which, however, are not for use within the literature.
