I had no problems using GSC-ACT. I tried 'Match to A2.0'; well, actually I
tried all kinds of permutations of many of the settings, without success. I
finally did get it working, though, after I had the thought that perhaps
Charon needed an existing a10.dat file before it would check the cd drive.
I had never used the A2.0 catalog from Guide. So, I fired up Guide and told
it to display some A2.0 data, and it did so nicely. After which, Charon
started working fine with the A2.0 CDs also!

I don't think my original idea is right, because I then deleted the a10.dat
file, and Charon will still prompt for the A2.0 CDs, but my guess is that
something else must have gotten initialized properly by Guide when it loaded
A2.0 for the first time. Sound possible? Anyway, I am now a very happy
camper, and would like to thank you very much for making Charon available!
It saved me from an awful lot of work.

Thanks for your helpful response, and for the tip about UCAC-2. I will
definitely check that out.
