Re: [guide-user] A Charon problem accessing A2.0 CDs

Hi Bill,

Are you using 'Match to A2.0', or 'Match to A2.0 (data on hard
drive)'? If you use the former, Charon ought to ask for a CD
(or two, if the area in question straddles CDs.)

Also, just to make sure it's an A2.0 problem: does the program
work if you tell it to match to GSC-ACT instead?

And finally: I _strongly_ recommend use of UCAC-2 instead of
A2.0, except in some unusual circumstances. Info on how to use
UCAC-2 in Charon:

http://www.projectpluto.com/charon.htm#ucac2
http://www.projectpluto.com/datasets.htm#UCAC2
http://www.projectpluto.com/update8.htm#ucac2_display

First link describes how to use UCAC2 in Charon. Second tells
you a bit about why you ought to do this, and why UCAC2 is (in
my humble opinion) the greatest thing since canned beer, and
has a link to the USNO Web site. That site tells you how to
get this catalog, at no cost.

The third link describes how to display UCAC-2 in Guide.
That's not quite as essential, but it _is_ nice to be able to
do this.
