Not GSC star, but Tycho-2

Hi Bill.

I discussed about one Asteroidal occutation on another ML.
Prediction tells (474)Prudentia occults "2UCAC 36420521"
(mag 11.8) star on 5 Feb.. The shadow pass Japan.

I herad "The Sky" software doesn't show that star.
I checked it. Guide8 show it as "GSC 722 1203 1".
"More Info" tells that "Data from Tycho".

A person checked that star around some star catalogs.
"GSC 1.2" doesn't include it.
"Tycho-2" include it.
"GSC 2.2" include it, but as "N30012226657".

This means the star name come from Tycho-2, not GSC.

Guide tells bright star info in order as :
GSC, SAO, PPM, HIP, HD, Yale BSC

I hope that the star Guide use HIP data, info order as
HIP, GSC, SAO, PPM, HD, Yale BSC
the star Guide use Tycho-2 data,
TYC, SAO, PPM, HD, Yale BSC
and the star Guide use GSC-ACT,
GSC, SAO, PPM, HD, Yale BSC

This idea tells which data Guide use for the star clealy.
