I believe that such a display could be misleading at high zoom level, when
the line contour is outside the screen. There is also a risk of confusion
with an aperture circle.
On the other hand, Guide displays presently great simulations of partial and
total solar eclipses (here, we probably don't want to see a bitmap of the
Moon because it would be less realistic).
Changing that would not be an improvement of Guide (imho).

Perhaps a good compromise could be to let the user choose whether he wants
an opaque or transparent line figure.
