A couple of "standard suggestions":

(1) If you aren't using the updated software from the Web site, I
strongly urge you to do so. 8.0 included quite a bit of revisions to
allow for a two-CD system with data that could be copied to the hard
drive; the result was that all sorts of permutations were possible,
such as "minimal install to the hard drive and nothing else", or
"minimal install, but one or the other Guide CD is accessible in
the CD-ROM drive", and so on. Quite a few bugs were found and fixed.
Getting the updated software almost always fixes them.

(2) If _that_ doesn't do it, try running Guide with the first
CD in the CD-ROM drive. It could be Guide isn't picking up some
datum from the hard drive, but will get it from the CD.
