I couldn't get the old DosGuide to run properly so I downloaded a
fresh copy of DosGuid8.exe and tried to run that.

My laptop doesn't have a CD drive. I just copied the DOSGuid8.exe to
a diskette, put it in the laptop and expanded it in Guide8 dir. I
then added the dos4gw.exe from Watcom. The result is the display
gives the name and version # of dos4gw and then 14 trash characters.
And quits. Not frozen, just done.
My laptop is a Compaq LTE 5000
75 MHz Pentium
DOS 6.22
