About the absence of Asteroids after 10 May 2005.

I think that your problem may be in the asteroid data files that you have
loaded into your hard drive from the Guide 8 disk.

Go to the Guide directory and then to the asteroid directory and then to
the asteroid sub directory and see if you have data for dates after Julian
date
2453500. If you were saving hard drive space you may not have saved enough
data files from the Guide 8 CDs to give you asteroid positions after May 10
2005. Look in the middle of page 57 of the Guide users manual and you will
see that you may only have good data for asteroids up through 2004. That
data may go until Julian day 2453500 and you will have to add more asteroid
files from the Guide CD to go beyond that date. That extra data is on the
second Guide 8 disk.

You might get things to work by just putting the second disk in your disk
drive and then the program will most likely find it and display the
asteroid positions.
