That's because of the setting of the planet magnitudes.

Click on the sun, a screen comes up saying "display". Click on display to bring up a screen that
says planets. The planets screen says the following off, on, fixed, auto. Change the setting to
"on". After changing settings to "on", click ok. Then the moon reappears:)

So no bug in the program.
