Hi William,

Michael's suggestion of uninstalling/re-installing is one of
my standard ideas for "mystery bugs" of this type. Another one
that is astonishingly successful is getting the current version
of the software from the Web site:

http://www.projectpluto.com

Click on "Updated Software", and you'll be presented with
options to download the current version, along with a long list
of improvements. (The latter make getting the current version
an excellent idea even if Guide is running perfectly. A lot of
nifty stuff has been added.)

My guess, though, is that the problem you report has to do
with a level setting problem. Does the following seem to match
what you're seeing?
