Hi Lawrence,

As Bob indicated, that file is (so far) an encoder-based system
file only. Guide uses it to convert raw encoder data into angles,
thence into RA/decs, and vice versa.

For the LX-200 (and Celestron scopes, and all systems except
JMI/MG-III and similar encoder boxes), Guide just sends and
receives RA/dec data. The alignment is all handled internally by
the telescope hardware.

My plan is to have Guide be able to handle alignment calculations
internally for all telescopes, opening the door to multiple-star
alignments and mechanical error correction for any mount. This will
actually simplify my life, once I get it working, by making the
current "messy" telescope control system code more logical in nature.
But it's been slow going...
