You've gotten caught by the fact that there are two different
conventions here for the second parameter. (It's not really a
"slope parameter"; that's an asteroid-oriented phrase.) That
formula ought to read

mag = H + 5*log delta + 2.5 * G * log r

It's that extra factor of 2.5 that's catching you.
