Thanks for the suggestions. I did a late-night session with the
notebook and opted for #1 which worked right up until I replaced my
<used to function> STARTUP.MAR file at which time I got the same
error message.

I don't understand what happened to the file since my last session
prior to this worked fine and I changed nothing. Well at any rate my
copy of Guide is back up and running, I just had to remember all of
my settings from before. I'm hoping that whatever happened will not
recurr.
