I agree. It's sometimes annoying.
Even non point-size objects are harder to get (e.g. nebula). If you are not
clicking "death center" you will not get the desired object.
And that's not only the problem with objects. GUIDE can lock on trails,
aperture circles, CCD frame and more.
A solution, but not a perfect one, would be:
If there are more than one object in a specific area, GUIDE should reognize
these objects, open a box, from where you can choose the desired object.
That would be one click more.
Or...
if the user moves the mouse cursor at the display, the objects to click on
would be "highlighted" (I hope, that's the correct word for it). Example: If
the cursor locks on a trail, the drawn line of the trail gets wider. Locked
on a nebula, the lines of the square symbol getting wider. And if the cursor
locks on a star, it sets a circle around this star OR the star gets bigger.
An alternate to make lines wider would be a color change at "lock on".
