Bill - my apologies for my poorly worded comment. Quite rightly, you
point out how Charon can be speeded up for images. This is not the
problem.
My situation is this: I am - when possible - taking series of asteroid
images. They have to be dark subtracted first. I may end up with 20
images for asteroid measurement. When I get more automated I hope to
obtain considerably more images. Do I *really* want to separately
analyse each image with Charon, locate the asteroid, visually confirm
its position via monitoring the maximum number within its image? No, I
really do want some degree of automation in this very time consuming
process. This was what I meant by "too slow for larger numbers of
images".
