"No Go" area of sky/wide lines/NGC 6281

Alan, could you please describe this "no go" area a bit?
Am I correct in assuming that it's simply moved from
"can't go above this altitude without hitting the base" to
"can't go above this declination without hitting the base"?

In such a case, you need simply switch from having
a red area centered on the zenith to having a red area
centered on Polaris. It still won't move relative to the
horizon, so it will still work.

Doug, there _is_ something odd about those wide lines.
On my printer, they do get wider, but not by much. Set
the widest line style possible, and they become fat marks
on the screen, but "medium wide" on the paper. Just going
to a double or even triple width isn't noticeable on the printout.
Is this what you're seeing? I'll have to puzzle this one out;
in theory, it ought to look the same on paper as it does
on-screen!

Tom, NGC 6281 was given as having that diameter in Wolfgang
Steinicke's NGC-IC dataset. His more recent version of that
dataset gives a diameter of 8 arcminutes, and I notice that the
recently-released catalogue of open clusters described at

also shows this guy as being 8 arcminutes in diameter, in agreement
with your other sources. About the only way to "correct" this problem
in Guide that I can see would be to use the new dataset instead,
turning off Guide's built-in NGC objects and open clusters in the
Data Shown dialog.
