Chart Making Enhancements (Request)
palominas925 Jun 16, 2003
While currently making some sky charts using different projections
(most recently using 'simple cylindrical'), and wanting to print
them out (in black & white), I found a couple items that I would
like to do, but was unable to incorporate them into the charts.
1) Make the line that represents the horizon a 'BOLD' line rather
than just identical to other lines that appear on the chart, such as
grid lines or constellation figures. Many lines can be set to
solid, dashed, etc, but not to bold. Maybe this feature can be
incorporated for any desired line?
2) Adding 'Celestial Equator' to the menu items selectable
under 'Display > Ticks, Grids, Etc...; add to the choices shown
(Ecliptic, Horizon, Gal Equator, etc), and also provide the option
of making this line (or again, the other choices) a BOLD line. True,
this line is shown any time a grid is drawn, but allow it to be
selected when no grid is desired, and shown either in non-bold or
bold fashion.
Of all the other programs that I had available (4) to make similar
charts, only Guide8 satisfied most of my options, and it prints out
these charts exactly as seen on the screen.
Thanks!
