Hi Ben,

I have tried this before and had the same problem. Now with your mail I was
remembered to have a closer look at this topic. And I think I get it...

Open the folder "event" in your Guide directory.

There you find the etb.files and a file named "events.dat".
This dat-file contain a list of all tables from the GUIDE 8.0 CD's.

You have to edit with a text editor this list by removing the files you
don't want anymore. BE CAREFUL and make a copy of this file before editing.
Sometimes it's hard to read which file belongs to which abbreviation. So
check the etb-files before you start editing.
After editing this dat file, you can remove the etb-files too. The are not
listed anymore and GUIDE will not crash this time.

GUIDE-users using other languages than English should delete the translated
etb-files too.

If you want the files back someday, you can copy them - and the original
events.dat - from the GUIDE 8.0 CD's.

If you want to remove a etb-file, which is not from the CD'S (maybe
downloaded from Bill's "Extra" page), deleting the etb-file is all you have
to do. There is no events.dat for this files.

Bill, if there is another solution or if I have made any errors, please
correct me.
